Creative Approach

Alexander Barty founded his eponymous copywriting and typographic design practice in 2016, and in the years since, it has been defined by an iterative, considered approach. Rooted in the belief that language and design should be clear and purposeful, the practice draws inspiration from the Arts and Crafts Movement’s emphasis on craft, materiality, and integrity. John Ruskin’s assertion that writing is best put simply informs a style that favours precision over embellishment, ensuring every word, letterform, and layout serves its intended function. Collaboration remains central—every project is shaped by dialogue, refinement, and a deep understanding of client needs. The result is work that is understated yet distinctive, balancing tradition with modernity to create thoughtful, long-lasting design.
